Like an Aching Tooth Removed
Sometimes the break-up has been waiting for too long
For months we'd stepped ‘round our combined hate;
the contempt had been audible.
Now with the act behind us
We can finally say
the truth we both feel.
This disaster:
sweet relief,
escape,
peace.
