Last Word of a Dying Relationship

Some loves end in fire, others in ice. Ours ended in smoke.

We lean back from the wall, each other,

bashful like new lovers to look,

afraid that we’ll give away

these emotions we’re not

yet ready to say.

As you leave me,

you blow smoke;

floats past,

“Hush.”
