As an audience sits to watch the screen,
Every attentive eye awaits the light.
There’s no rewind, pause, or stop of each scene.
In the theater, the flicker takes flight.
Like a picture now showing, there’s a glare.
Not blinding but searching in the dark room.
Sounds crash like symbols and eyes only stare.
Out of their seats, some jump when devils loom.
The genre of horror or thriller makes
Other pieces of art seem rather tame.
The squirming, hiding of the eyes just takes
Shock to a higher part of the whole game.
The film world rejoices at the bare truth
Of who then thinks to lay cash at the booth.
