A Knight’s Devotion: A Journey of Love and Longing.

Lifeline
The more I love you, the more I feel possessed
The less I see you, the more I feel depressed
The more I think about you, the more I feel blessed
The more I think about love the less I feel oppressed
I feel so comfortable in your presence
For you are the sun in my dark world,
You are the core of my dreamworld
You are the waves in my ocean of love
I love you when the sky looks bright
I love you when the sun burns right
I love you when the sun becomes slight
I love you when the moon turns white
You love me so we will be alright
I'd love to be your only knight
I didn't fall in love overnight
What I feel is akin to love at first sight
For my thoughts run amok like a blight
Till your gentle love helps soothe the plight
Your beauty has forever taken my sight
You make my heavy heart become so light
So I'll always love you as long as you treat me right

Theme
The poem revolves around the themes of love, longing, devotion, and emotional transformation. It portrays a deeply emotional connection that evolves as the narrator reflects on their feelings and the impact of their beloved on their life.
Structure
The poem is structured into five stanzas, each with a consistent rhyme scheme. This creates a lyrical flow that mirrors the rhythm of heartfelt emotions. The use of first-person narration draws readers directly into the narrator's perspective.
Stanza 1: Love as a Double-Edged Sword
The poet captures the paradox of love. The more the narrator loves, the more they feel consumed, and absence breeds despair. Yet, love is also portrayed as a source of blessing and liberation, contrasting feelings of oppression with love’s uplifting power.
This duality underscores the vulnerability and strength inherent in love.
Stanza 2: The Beloved as a Source of Light and Inspiration
The narrator emphasizes the beloved's transformative influence. The imagery of light ("sun," "dreamworld," "waves") suggests hope, warmth, and vitality that the beloved brings into their life.
Key Lines:
"You are the sun in my dark world"
"You are the waves in my ocean of love"
This stanza reinforces the beloved as a beacon of hope, illuminating the narrator’s path.
Stanza 3: Timeless and Unconditional Love
Here, the poet explores love’s constancy, comparing it to celestial phenomena (sky, sun, and moon). The stanza highlights the narrator's unwavering affection, regardless of external circumstances.
Key Lines:
"I love you when the sky looks bright"
"I love you when the moon turns white"
The use of natural imagery suggests the timeless, eternal nature of true love.
Stanza 4: A Knight’s Vow of Loyalty

Key Lines:
"I'd love to be your only knight"
"I didn't fall in love overnight"
It reflects devotion, loyalty, and the maturity of love.
Stanza 5: Love’s Healing and Uplifting Power
The final stanza shifts to a hopeful and healing tone. The beloved’s love is depicted as a remedy for the narrator's inner turmoil, elevating their spirit and offering peace. The stanza ends with a condition for mutual respect, highlighting the importance of reciprocity in love.
Key Lines:
"Your gentle love helps soothe the plight"
"You make my heavy heart become so light"
