Cameras in traffic lights

make us real-life movie stars

White knights keep reciting

the foolishness that love requires

Stop signs and the footlights

messages kept in the dark

Dances in the moonlight

love bombing of the heart

I miss the space in my head

where the innocence lived

Sandy walks by the bay

where I collected these tears

Then, I gave them away

wasted them on a boy

Put them out on display

in exchange for my joy

My life played out in segments

far from the silver screen

And I'm left with the remnants

somewhere not here, in between

Life, love and the heartache

an added bonus of living

Where success and mistakes

find harmony when they’re singing
