My tear held life in its drop
As the warm sensation from my eyes fell
The tear released life from its liquid form
Life stood upright guiding me by my hand
I looked into life’s face, its existence empathetic
Life ushered me over the depression’s of the valley
Life uttered, “Look below, what do you see?”
I answered, “I see descent, I see hardship, in the valley below.”
Life encouraged, “Look a little closer, what do you see?”
“Rivers flowing with purpose and reason, rivers of revitalisation.”
Life shared, “In your valley, your seasons of hardship and sorrow,
There provided for you are rivers of purpose and reason.”
Life led me along the oceans, the expanse so vast
“See the distance of the seas, view the border of the sands.”
Life assured, “Your problems, your pains have borders, too
Remember, in the waves of tribulations, these only tarry so far.”
Life continued its lead, my thoughts roamed, my heart examined
Life tilted its head back, gazing upon the skies of blue
“What do you see there in the stretch of the universe?” Life whispered.
“I see the sky extending its covering of blue across the heavens.”
Life uplifted me to further altitudes and questioned
“Do you only see the sky, they're alone in the atmosphere?”
I answered, “No, I see the sun, so bright and life-giving.”
“Yes, that’s what I intended for you to capture, to understand”
Life assured me, “When your atmosphere is blue with despair
When all that surrounds you seems to be closing in
Know this...the threshold of light is birthing healing
Burdens lifted, difficulties eased, a return to restoration.”
Suddenly, before us appeared a tree, enormous in its validity
the heat of the day overwhelming its imposing stature
Life ran with vigour bathing under its shadow
“Come, be still and know that in the shade a transcend is forming.”
Under the arms of the tree I rested, I pondered, I smiled
I watched life dancing, reciting the unheard music of laughter and sobs
Life asked in anticipation, “Now, what do you see?”
I answered, comforted, “I see life, in joy and in sadness. I see life, living...alive.”
