Life is bitter, fate is destined

I agreed that life should be fair and if one struggled enough then everything would sort itself out. But as time went by I came to realize that fate always has its work cut out for it. All is not so sweet in life and at times no matter what efforts are made, one has to go through the ordeal that is planned for one.

I’ve seen it firsthand. There are those who appear to lead charmed lives, very little goes wrong for them whereas I have my share of problems every day. It is like we were always meant to be different people with different fates that have different weights on their shoulders. This has made me learn that there are always some situations that we cannot change no matter how much we try.

Now and again, I attempted to push things to win big like two brothers I knew, one made it through, while the other failed. They were given equal chances and yet, their end results were not at par with the other. I have understood that not everything in life is determined by work, but pre-destine.

I have also experienced loss but in a different context, where I want to grasp things that are ephemeral or items or people that are not to be permanent fixtures in my life. And more often than not such plans have gone wrong. This is an aspect that I was very particular about getting a prestigious career, but fate had its way. I looked for love, but that also was lost to me.

Basically, I have come to appreciate the facet of acceptance in life. It is essential to understand that life will never be perfect and it is a part of life that can accept suffering. However, as we have seen there are moments of sweetness in between the pain. And that is what I have today — living in the moment and laughing at the rest.
