LIFE IS A BED OF ROSES.
Contrast between the beauty of life and its complexities.
By Cecilia UdeoguPublished 8 months ago • 1 min read

Life is like a bed of roses,
That draws its victims with its
Crimson red petals,
That glistens under the golden hue of the sun,
And the fluorescent hue of the moon.
Its fresh scent wafts through the air,
Soothing troubled minds,
And mending couples' fights.
The man stumbled upon it,
“Soft yet spiky,” he said as he lay,
The thorns pierce his flesh,
The excruciating pain torment him,
But the sweet scent comforts him.
His lids closed embracing the dark,
Soon the pain left but the comfort remained,
As he fell deep into the abyss,
The petals licked his wounds,
And his blood fell on them,
There was no difference,
As the petals and the blood became one.
