Life

A poem about life. None of us chose to be.

By Jason Ray Morton Published 9 months ago 1 min read

Man does some things more than just when time says it's due

A part of life and our journey

Living, laughing, loving, and conflicts await you

To deny the truth is to avoid your destiny

With a breath and a scream

Wailing throughout the world, you are

Stumbling through life, you're but a dream

Not your dream, it was, but it's come this far

Excitement and adventure are not what wise ones seek

Valuing your days will leave you more wise

In this world, things don't happen often for the meek

Something known to those with wise eyes

Chosen not by the walker

This life not his plan

He becomes a good talker

Living the life planned by another man

Choices abound for the strongest among us

Anything, they can be

Eventually moving along, they will do

A world to conquer once they're free

For Fun

Writing has become more important as I live with cancer. It's a therapy, it's an escape, and it's a way to do something lasting that hopefully leaves an impression.

This one I may have to set with for a while in order to take it all in. Blessings, Jason.
