Life

A Gasp

fractured

shattered

Torn and tossed

love

and hate

Star lovers crossed

distant

hollow

Left to die

reasons

questions

Wonder why’s

Time a thief

and we, the victims

Clocks without a hand to spare

crowded

tortured

Left abandoned

Any reason, not to care

Seasons

Moments

Minutes passing

clinging

Clawing

To hold on

Memories

Golden

An illusion

All too soon

Forever, gone

What we have

we held

Not knowing

Just How quickly

It would pass

Breathless

Grasping

To relive it

Anyway

To make it last

Blink your eyes

And you will miss it

Like a vapor

Here and gone

Life a ride

And time

The driver

All too soon

It passes on

Everything is tenporary in this world. Loved your poem!

  • So why, as a child, did it seem to take forever for Christmas Eve to arrive? Eternity & brevity, all in the incessant ticking of a clock. Beautiful poem, my friend.
