Life Cycle of a Storm Cloud

Stratospheric Pressure

By Amos GladePublished 6 months ago Updated 6 months ago 1 min read

It was young

Life was steamy

Condensed into a cloud

That cloud,

Young and dreamy,

Never dreamt much out loud

It let it build up

It grew dark

It grew dreary

The weight of the burden had made it go weary

Year over year the dreams turned to fear

and it buried itself amongst other such cloud

so that voices that told him "you're bad" weren't so loud

"Hello there my friend," came a voice from above

"Forgive my portend, but I'm not going to lie,

I think you've been building up quite a good cry

Let it out, come on up, and I'll give you some love"

So the cloud cried

before it started to blub

It started to change, became wispy and clear

"You never belonged in the troposphere"

Dream all your dreams, let them soar

Let them fly

The pain and the burden will loose

By and by

Once you've let go of all of that fear

You'll be bouncing around in the atmosphere

You cannot avoid the joy or the sorrow

Live for today and not for tomorrow

Clouds representative of humans... I never thought about it, but it's uplifting to read it. Thank you for writing and sharing this, Amos. Into the atmosphere we go, haha. And loved that last line; if we're always thinking of tomorrow, we'll never enjoy today.
