Life Beyond Our Stars
What lies beyond our world of blue,
A place unseen, a realm untrue?
Beyond the stars, where silence hums,
A mystery calls, a question comes.
Do rivers flow on distant lands,
Shaped by time’s invisible hands?
Do skies burn bright with colors strange,
Or seasons drift, their endless change?
Are hearts like ours, both kind and strong,
Beating to a cosmic song?
Do voices rise in joyous tone,
Or whisper dreams we’ve never known?
Life beyond, so vast, so wide,
A universe where truths may hide.
We gaze with wonder, hearts aflame,
Yet know so little of the same.
Perhaps one day, we’ll bridge the void,
Our fears and doubts all but destroyed.
And hand in hand, no longer far,
We’ll greet the life beyond our star.

So You Decided To Become a Nurse Practitioner:
So you decided to become an "Advanced Practice" nurse. Congratulations!... is what I would say if this was a good idea. Grad school? In this economy? What were you thinking? Likely it was something along the lines of either 1) “I've seen these other chucklefucks do it— Why can't I?” or even 2) “I've got a nice career, I should shake it up. I miss feeling like I have no clue what I'm doing.”
