To Luna, my one love
You’ve been the background of every phase of my life
Through pain and strife, happiness and light
I wondered of your secrets, and marveled at your beauty
And under speckled starlight we laughed and cried, rejoiced and sorrowed
Articulated thoughts of duty
The fact that time is borrowed
And under her pale light, we can bear the thought of tomorrow
And yet I wonder of your perspective
What you see down in return
Does the horror tear you up?
Seeing the blood cover the Earth?
Instead of awe, do you cry like we do?
A direct parallel, mirror to my face
I looked out the window and tried to imagine a place
Where we safely wandered the stars, eons away from disgrace
Soldiers of luxe in the battlefield of psyche
Fighting invisible wars alongside me, inside me
And it always goes back to her
The ink on my arm, and the mark on my heart
Luna, my love
I look out and still see her looking back at me, indefinitely
Sincerely,
A reflection of you
