Life, a poem

When each day ressembles the previous

Time repeats itslef

No friends

No laugh

But protecting yourself from the pains of life

Shields you from its joys as well

Living every day like you’re not

Living to see

Life unfolds itself before your eyes

Instead of boarding the train

You enjoy the bench facing the tracks

You enjoy nothing

They call for you to join the game

But you prefer watching them play

The spark that was one in your eye

Has long ago died

You hope one day the movie of your life

Will start playing

You are the main character of that story

But you refuse to enter the theater

You fear it will end poorly

The pop corn has been cold for years

If only you would take action

Take a step towards the door

Press play

Your writing is superb. I can't help but express my admiration for it.

I'm sure many reading can resonate with the feelings of "ups and downs" that you play with through this poem.
