Life
It is not for the faint at heart
For it must be lived boldly, unflinchingly and decisively
Wake up each day and decide to live for yourself
your family and for humanity
We dare not say we will not arise to the occasion of strength
in the face of adversity
It is incumbent upon us all to seek wisdom and guidance
So that we can be a better you, a better me, a better self
A self that can look at its reflection in the mirror each
morning and not shirk away due to embarrassment or weakness
Indeed, we must continuously strike a balance between
duty to self, family and humanity
by daring to live the life we are all destined and created to live
Alas, the immense founding of self
need not frighten anyone
but instead, be the ultimate awakening that compels everyone forward
to the ultimate destiny that liberates us individually and collectively
For in time life will come collecting what is due
We all must pay our dues for the privilege of breathing the breath of life
That comes from our Creator
No one can say for certain that there is absolutely nothing to pay
Be honest about what you owe and
free your conscience, your mind and your soul
Liberation day awaits us all and we can say that
Nothing stands in our way if we dare to live boldly
Light will transform us into what we were always meant to be
Darkness is omitted and vanquished at the acceptance of our duties
No more we will be afraid of living to the fullest
With every breath and strength that we can muster
And time will again be our friend until it slips away
And becomes more elusive than before we first became
Intimate with it
Separately, we must be part of it and yet apart from it
We cannot know everything but what we can know
Will save us from the depths of loss so that we can live to the fullest
And not be shy about whatever happens or whatever we must do
To live life fantastically, wonderfully, beautifully, graciously and gloriously within and without ourselves
As long as we LIVE!
