Library of Lost Thoughts

Where forgotten ideas go to wait

By The 9x FawdiPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

There is a library of thoughts unsaid,

where sentences go when they're left for dead.

Ideas you had while in the shower,

that lost their fragile, fleeting power.

The brilliant points in arguments,

that came too late for their intents.

The perfect words to heal the heart,

that you forgot before the start.

The stories that you meant to write,

that vanished in the morning light.

The questions that you should have asked,

behind a fading, memory's mask.

All waiting on their dusty shelves,

these better versions of ourselves.

These kinder words and wiser ways,

from long-forgotten yesterdays.

Sometimes at three-AM you'll find,

a thought you'd left so far behind.

It flickers in your sleepy mind -

a book you thought you'd never find.

So listen to that quiet voice,

and make a different, better choice.

Check out a book from memory's stacks,

and bring some lovely thinking back.
