What is True Liberty?

If Liberty means boundary-less,

then we'll all drown.

Like no walls set in a building,

and no rules in a teeming town.

*

If Liberty means limitless,

Then how can we reach goals?

If there's never enough to fill our lacks,

And nothing satisfies our souls.

*

If Liberty means no control,

Then that's where values vanish.

Then our lives will be bereft,

And our hearts in desperate famish.

*

But Liberty is safe in a controlled man,

Whose mind rules his heart's desire.

Whose soul rules his darkest urges

and who puts his sins on self-trial.
