Liberated
-*-
I can tell you stories
on how this started;
I can take your spirit
and walk you with me.
Don't you dare to be afraid of
the recently departed;
they took one step further
and their souls are now free.
-*-
This inferno is our prison,
we're supposed to roam freely;
we're presumed not guilty,
but we rot in this place.
This spot marks the ending
of our dreams and desires
and the only solace is
hiding all our disgrace.
-*-
I can tell you stories
that will give you a grimace,
I can take your whole body
and return it all minced.
Don't you dare to be afraid of
the recently unbounded,
they took one step further
and were fully evinced.
-*-
This inferno is our prison,
we're supposed to roam freely;
we're presumed not guilty,
we will flee from this place.
This spot marks the starting
of our dreams and desires
and the biggest solace is
showing up full of grace.

About the Creator
Alex Torres
Started writing short stories back in 1988 at work, when I had an empty page to fill for the employee's internal magazine. Taking the pen again after a 30 year-long hiatus, exploring where it takes me this time.
