Letting Go is Okay

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

We shared laughter, we danced in the rain,

But somewhere along, we lost the same frame.

Seasons change, and so do we,

What once felt right, now feels so free.

Chorus

Some people can stay in your heart,

But it’s okay to say goodbye,

With every tear, I’m learning to start,

To let go, not to deny.

Memories linger, but paths must part,

Some love’s too deep to keep you tied.

So I’ll cherish you here, in my heart,

But it’s okay to say goodbye.

Verse 2

The times we had, they light up my mind,

But holding on, I’ve started to find,

That love can grow, even from afar,

Sometimes we heal when we know who we are.

Chorus

Some people can stay in your heart,

But it’s okay to say goodbye,

With every tear, I’m learning to start,

To let go, not to deny.

Memories linger, but paths must part,

Some love’s too deep to keep you tied.

So I’ll cherish you here, in my heart,

But it’s okay to say goodbye.

Bridge

The road ahead may feel so new,

But every step leads me back to you.

A chapter closed, but love remains,

In the echoes of joy, the lessons from pain.

Chorus

Some people can stay in your heart,

But it’s okay to say goodbye,

With every tear, I’m learning to start,

To let go, not to deny.

Memories linger, but paths must part,

Some love’s too deep to keep you tied.

So I’ll cherish you here, in my heart,

But it’s okay to say goodbye.

Outro

So here’s to the moments, the love we knew,

I’ll hold you gently, and I’ll set us both true.

In my heart, you’ll always shine bright,

But it’s okay now, to say goodbye tonight.
