I am not eager to make the same mistakes again. But I am not afraid of getting hurt again, because if nothing else, it is a lesson. After all, to trust is my decision. To break that trust is yours.

And pain is a lesson. Not to avoid what causes pain, but to lean into it, to reflect. To sit with it for a while, before letting it go. And I know now that I am strong enough to bear what might have killed my spirit, and fractured my soul.

Pain changes people. For better and worse. I want to think it has made me stronger, and more loving. That it has put what is truly important into perspective. Integrity, and the importance of speaking one's truth.

I am not eager to make the same mistakes again, but I am not afraid of getting hurt again. For I know that with each trial, I grow stronger, wiser, and more compassionate.
