Let Your Voice Be a Lion.

Let your voice be heard.

Let your voice be a lion, fierce and strong,

A roar for injustice, a cry against wrong.

Let your voice be a feather, gentle and kind,

A teacher of values to nurture young minds.

Let your voice be a trumpet, a heralding blare,

Proclaiming inequalities in systems unfair.

Let your voice be a candle of bright expectation,

Lighting the dark on discrimination.

Let your voice be a drum, always beating for change,

Starting conversations of cultural exchange.

Let your voice be the wind, moving and free,

Nurturing the soul of spirituality.

Let your voice be the totem, for First Nations' history,

To treasure like gold their culture and story.

Let your voice be the ocean, to wash away tears,

From the heartache and torture felt over the years.

Let your voice be the fire, may it burn and blaze,

Against hatred and war that time can't erase.

Let your voice be the symphony of harmonic sound,

A beauty and unity: together found.

Let your voice be the rock of strength and power,

For the voiceless, the poor who need help in this hour.

Let your voice be the sun, full of warmth and passion,

Radiating love, mercy and compassion.

Let your voice be the graffiti, the art on the street,

An expression for the lost and homeless you meet.

Let your voice be the beacon, the light on a hill,

For those in the dark who have laid down their will.

Let your voice be the thunder, that cracks and quakes,

Pleading for the earth our oceans and lakes.

Let your voice be the pendulum, that pauses in-between

Left and right views, expressing the unseen.

Let your voice be the ship, battling storms of its own,

Determined and brave though it may feel alone.

This poem has so many touch points. It is clear you are an excellent teacher. I hope your poems are published in a book for children. If I were still in the classroom, I would enjoy teaching and analyzing your poem very much.
