Let Your Brain Unwind

You're Alive

By Amos GladePublished 5 months ago Updated 5 months ago 1 min read

I was helpless. I was lost,

nowhere to go.

I was little, just a child don’cha know?

So I followed,

and I followed,

and I followed,

And?

Who had I become, but a simpering ghost.

Lost from those who'd dared to love me the most.

Only to smell the fear of burning toast.

So I followed,

and I followed,

then I wallowed,

And?

Work hard and try to give myself a roast.

To find out I was the one who hurted me most.

So I followed,

then I wallowed,

and I swallowed,

Gulp?

And make amends, bring peace no matter the cost.

Remember that you were the one that once was lost.

Follow others with integrity.

Wallow in human dignity.

Swallow your pride; set idealogy: aside,

open wide,

The fear: never ever never will survive.

Set free and open up that hollow -

-

- Cavity.

Fill it back up with love. Love for yourself.

Then think about love for another. Love for yourself.

It will never be selfish to think of the love for yourself.

Loving oneself is a wealth that needs to be shared.

Remember that you were the one that once was lost.

Sometimes your soul, it needs it needs to be beared.

To find out I was the one who hurted me most.

So I encouraged those that needed someone to follow,

Then I halted the feeling, the needing for miseries wallow,

and I swallowed,

Gulp?

This is it, now is the time.

Leave the mothers and all the childen,

all behind.

You're alive.

You'll revive... Let your brain unwind.

Great work. Loving ourselves is so important. For me, also the hardest.
