Let us value our little sons and daughters
In memory of the children killed in Uvalde, Texas.

Today there was no rush to get out of the house.
The beds are still made and the toys in their places.
Breakfast was not prepared,
nor were the school bags packed, the same ones that did not return home yesterday,
with the stories of what had happened,
with the tiredness of the day,
with the illusion of ending the week to start the vacations.
As of yesterday there will be no more fights to put your shoes in place,
do their homework early and go to sleep on time.
The routine was abruptly cut off, and with it, dreams and illusions,
not only of children, but of entire families.
That routine that sometimes is so exhausting and of which you constantly complain,
is the desire of many, who would like to have that chaos in their lives again for a little while.
We must ask God to give consolation to those families who lost a great part of their lives,
but we must also ask God for us, who without realizing it, are losing that very thing every day.
Life is short, in some cases, too short, not to enjoy even its chaos.
