LET THE SUNSHINE IN
A Song for the Ages
A little whimsy is good for the soul.
A genuine smile can brighten a day.
Enjoy a good laugh and soon you will see
How it chases the doldrums away.
A song comes to mind that my mom often sang –
She taught me to sing it as well.
‘Twas a song from the ages but never grows old,
And good advice it does tell.
Oft times a dark cloud will loom overhead
That causes our spirit to frown.
I’ll think of my mom singing that song
And turn my frown upside down.
To brighten your day, I’m adding the words.
Hoping to make your day worthwhile.
Sing with me now, as loud as you can.
I’d like to see us all smile.
* * * *
(Although this is not the entire song, it's the part that meat the most to mom)

So let the sunshine in
face it with a grin.
Smilers never lose
and frowners never win.
So let the sunshine in
face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sunshine in.
