Let the Past Be the Past

Remember, but don't live there

By Rohitha LankaPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Forgetting is the sole means to halt

Are memories not a part of life, my dear?

Yet, revisit that memory

Avoid lingering in the past

There are many wonderful things that remain unknown to you

The future unfolds before you

Return to that memory

Eventually

When you reflect on today

Do you wish for it to remain merely a memory?

In that moment, swiftly return to the past

Come back, Barry?

The past remains the past

Do not blur the lines between the present and the future

For it belongs to the past

Should it not be kept separate from the present?

Is it not sufficient to hold the past in memory with care?

Without anyone being aware
