People often think small kids are naïve.
They break toys, they cry for candies,
they trust strangers.
But give them a break —
adults are often several times worse.
Kids are straightforward and honest.
Adults swim in an ocean of hypocrisy.
Sure, don't shatter porcelain vases —
but adults know how to break hearts.
They are good in betraying relatives.
So yes, they say,
we must live in an adult body —
but the heart should remain that of a cherub,
the inner child must be alive.
If you’re not doing that already,
start now.
Or guilt may not let you live…
or die, in peace.
