I never wanted to just make a living —
but to do it by doing what I love,
something meaningful for the world.
I can’t tolerate the idea of earning,
misleading my fellow earthlings
just for my own gain.
But we all know — ethical earning is hard.
What can be better than writing
and illuminating lives of others?
Yet, we are given pittance.
I wasn’t lucky enough to be born
with privileges or a solid inheritance.
Relatives won’t support, for jealousy,
they fear what I might become.
I need support, as we all do —
we are after all, social humans,
alone, we are but vulnerable.
Piercing through this frustration,
appeared the social media community
people generous with their support.
I’m grateful to all of you —
for your time, and attention,
the help and motivation you offered,
when I needed it the most.
