Let's not talk of snow
a poem about holding onto sunshine a little longer

Let’s not talk of snow so soon,
While we still have a few full moons.
Summer has just slipped away,
Fall has only begun its stay.
The leaves have not yet turned to flame—
to bright orange and blood red
Heavy blankets still rest in closets,
Where ghost stories are made,
These stories haven’t been served for Halloween yet!
So why don’t you get?
That-
I have yet to wander through a cider farm,
Let me be draped in my summer charms.
Let the lakes lap against the shore,
Let me bathe in sunlight a little more.
The sun hasn’t ended its show—
So why would you summon the snow?
Knock on wood, for the sake of my mood,
Don’t jinx the world to a white neighborhood.

Oh that opening line won me over. Full moons. Those two words worked so well with the word soon. Chefs kiss! Heavy blankets still rest in closet. Wow. You are taking us there. Taking us inside our own homes and our own lives in this season. Cider farm. And summers charms. I am getting goosebumps. I can tell you felt every word as you wrote them. Wooooww why would you summon the snow. I am totally fan gurling right now. This was so so very good. Oh my gosh WHAT!!! YAAASS THIS IS HOW ITS DONE. Go you! Wishing you the best of luck in this challenge. Damn, that last line though... 😲🤗❤️🖤
