Let Me Sink Your Battleship
Another accidental poem, this time about childhood stuff
Let me sink your battleship
With my yellow rubber ducky
I've got an Optimus Prime
You've got a tub of slime
Your boy's a no show
I've got He-Man and Lion-O
You've got She-ra and a Yo-Yo
Let's play Star Wars, I'm Lord Vader
You can be Old Ben in the landcruiser
Who's your favourite wrestler?
Macho man or maybe Hulk Hogan
Hacksaw Jim Duggan or Big Bossman?
Mine is The Phenom, The Deadman, The Undertaker
The tombstone piledriver is a shoulder breaker
If you have a ruler, you have a machine gun
In my day, you didn't need a nerf blaster gun
Let's play a game of hide and seek or tig (some people call it tag)
Then we'll eat a tonne of sweets like pigs
Afterwards have some fun on the atari for ping pong ping pong
Who do you think would win in a fight, Snoopy or Stretch Armstrong?
Do you really know what Snow says in his big hit "Informer"?
It sounds like Snow says "ah licky bum-bum down" in "informer"
Cycling is fun, especially pulling a wheelie and handsfree
Watch out riding downhill, don't want wrapped around a tree
Let's all laugh when we have to dance the Gay Gordons at school
Ghostbusters, The A-Team and Sam Beckett and Al were all very cool
I wish I could back, even just in my head, from time to time
So, please lets drift in my mind and sink your battleship
With my yellow rubber ducky

Informer!! Lol. I use to love that song and clip! Hahah. That really takes me back. Missed reading your crazily funny pieces Paul! Most of the refs I got except a couple. 😁
That was fun, and brought back some great memories.
Lol, I love this Paul! Well-done.
This is such a fun piece, Paul! See much of this in my boys. Love the way you ended this! You can write it all, my friend, from the dark to the light and playful!
I wish I can go back too! I enjoyed your poem Sir Paul! 🍩🥐
A lot of overlap in our childhoods, I see... 😉
You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals!
