How many times have you been let down?

Have you counted, have you done the math?

It's a staggering number, isn't it?

Everyone in my life has let me down,

in one way or another.

It makes me wonder if somewhere

Someone wonderful might be

Who could cure the sadness

and insecurities within me.

Mostly it seems silly

Because most people say

All life is is one big let down after another.

I can relate to the feeling of being let down. It's frustrating when people don't come through. I've had my fair share of disappointments. Makes you question if there's truly someone out there who won't let you down. But then, is it really that silly to hope for something better? Maybe we just need to be more careful about who we trust. What are your thoughts on dealing with these letdowns? Do you have any strategies to keep from getting too discouraged?
