Lessons Learned

Your love for me dissolved as fast

as snowflakes on a tongue

The things you swore would never pass

slipped off just like a glove

You wouldn't know the truth

if it were stapled to your lips

You slathered it with glue

to increase the hurt when it was ripped

Torn away in pieces

shattered like rain against the rocks

I need to get a visa

to travel to the worlds that you made up

I never would have guessed

that you were less than hollow trust

I must have been possessed

to let the devil get that close

But, I learned my lesson

and boy, I learned it well

I swear to God in heaven

That I'll send you straight to hell

If you even think of comin' back

tryin' to play your foolish games

Cause baby, I am back on track

and I am choosing not to play
