Life is not what it seems.
Ask a person who dreams.
Just when you think,
you’re right on the brink,
it all comes apart at the seams.
But that sounds way too simplistic,
and you don’t have to be a true mystic,
to change your perspective,
and be more effective,
and maybe less egotistic.
You may not be as great as you ponder,
but that’s no cause for dishonor.
You are good enough now,
once you learn how,
to accept your life and its wonder.
A great paradox has been shown.
We don’t achieve greatness alone.
It’s not up to you and me,
to define our legacies.
It’s embodied by those we have known.
