Leaving for pastures anew

From Beyond Time and Behind the Stars

By Sabayo MatikuPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Dusty and dry.

The soil is almost like sand now.

It had lost that sweet cinnamon, that earthen scent

And paled like corn husks left in the drought of summer.

The grains didn’t like sticking to each other now;

The love had seeped deeper into the ground,

Seeking refuge where it was moist and dark.

I let the earth run through my fingers,

A slightly ticklish sensation,

Falling down with the sound of a rattlesnake

Skimming over the desert under the

Gentle twinkle of starlight.

“Are you sure? Do you promise this will work?” I asked.

I had seen so many incredible things already,

But my mind still doubted, still questioned.

“Why don’t you go ahead and find out?”

Sabayo Matiku

I express the realities and frequencies that words are carried on, to speak to the heart in a manner that is simple and free. I've come to ruffle feathers and to polish the sky, to laugh and wonder.

This created a sense of tingling sensation but an also peaceful one. Love it.
