Tea

By Sabayo MatikuPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Sweet and open—honey and dew.

A scratch, a golden burn on the tongue.

Melange of orange, creamer, and caffeine.

Small nibble on my cloying cake.

Too much too quickly could prove fatal.

A waterfall of flavor, feeding the

Endless expanse.

Death by tea.

Strength, not only in heat, but in softness;

An acquiescence of taste.

Through drip and dribble I can breathe,

Further and further into my cup I fall.

By separating steam and sunlight

I know what it is to taste.

About the Creator

Sabayo Matiku

I express the realities and frequencies that words are carried on, to speak to the heart in a manner that is simple and free. I've come to ruffle feathers and to polish the sky, to laugh and wonder.
