Learn from Crepe Myrtle

To adjust to seasons

I venture into nature

whenever I can—

for I know,

all my questions

have answers out there.

I saw the crepe myrtle

with lovely pink flowers

in summer, feeding bees,

dropping frilly petals

like a celebration.

But come winter’s chill,

the same tree turns—

its leaves blazing

red, orange, maroon—

falling like confetti.

@Seema

If the same plant,

what changes it so much?

Just temperature!

And yet—

what a transformation!

Of course, temperature

influences hormones,

biochemistry shifts.

Let me remind you,

the same happens to us.

In summer, we tan,

sweat more.

In winter dryness,

oil glands shrivel,

and skin cracks.

And what do we do?

We fight this natural rhythm

with chemicals!

A body already trying to adapt—

we bombard it with cocktails.

This sparks inflammation,

keeps the damaging fire burning

until disease shows up,

we breed own maladies.

So I advise you readers:

embrace seasonal change,

avoid unnecessary chemicals.

keep healthy, your vitals.
