A broken system
Watch and pray
I have no more to say
Tired of history repeating itself
You don't get tired of seeing people hurt
As a nation we are crying
As a nation, we are hurting
Y'all don’t listen to the people
Our voice doesn't matter
Our voice is being ignored
How do you expect people to follow the law if you don't follow the law
If only leaders lead with love, maybe things would be different
You lead with chaos
All we ask is you to do your job right
Do the job that the people are paying you to do
But then again the job was never built on love
It was barely built on fairness
So it will take a major change of the norm to make it right
A focus on love and not on money
Yes, a focus on love and not on power

If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
