An Apology to My Child Heart
I'm sorry. I'm sorry for letting other people's opinions of you take over your joy for life. I'm sorry for quieting your heart. I'm sorry for hushing you, for trying to make you soft and acceptable. I'm sorry for making you feel ashamed of your body. I'm sorry for the diets, for constantly tugging at your tummy, wishing it all away. I'm sorry for not letting you explode into sunbeams whenever you saw something beautiful. I'm sorry for making you feel like your joy for life was something that needed to be put away so that you could be cool and fit in. I'm sorry for letting others silence you. I'm sorry for making you think less of yourself because of your lack of a boyfriend. They could never handle you anyway. They were never meant to. I'm sorry for the anger and the mental abuse I put you through. I'm sorry for making you doubt your love and your power. I'm sorry for not removing you from harmful and abusive relationships and situations. I'm sorry for comparing you and your talents to other people's instead of just letting you thrive in your own time. You deserved more. Please come back and scream to the world your fullness. Let me love you the way you were meant to be. Come play with me again. Come run and jump and dance and live again. I can't wait to meet you after all these years. You are beautiful, and your energy is contagious. Thank you for loving me as best as I would let you even in the midst of the constant shaming. I love your heart, little girl. You've done so well. Thank you for coming so far with me. Let's go back to dancing barefoot in the grass with sun and wind blowing through our hair. We'll conquer the world with our love yet.

The Boy and His Cat Blue
If I was going to tell you a story. It would be about a boy and his cat Blue. He always wanted a dog, and this his mother knew! When she brought the kitten home and the boy opened the bag. He was no longer happy. He was only sad. He tried to give him a chance so he took him out to play. He wouldn’t fetch a ball. All he wanted to do was lay! So the boy talked to his mom and told her about his thought. The conditions he would make in order to get a dog. The dog would have to be perfect! As perfect as could be! He would have to learn to listen and go outside to poop and pee. He would have to fetch the paper and never scratch on doors. He would have to love the mailman and make sure I’m never bored. So the boy went to the pet store and again he had to ask about this perfect dog that he wanted fast. The man at the pet store said I got just the dog for you! The boy thought to himself hello dog and goodbye Blue! Now Blue wasn’t stupid. He knew what was going on and that if he didn’t make things right then he would soon be gone. So when the boy got home the first thing he saw was Blue. Something was different, something was new! Now the boy still had his duties and still had to feed the cat. He knew as soon as he did Blue would take a nap. But Blue was determined and wasn’t giving up! He ate then wanted to play! He actrf just like a pup. The boy could tell he was trying and then he felt real bad. The mom could see what was happening and decided to help the cat. She took the boy by the hand and whispered in his ear. SHE SAID I COULD KEEP YOU BOTH he said while letting out a cheer! That was just the good news they all wanted to hear! So the boy the cat and pup became the best of friends... that’s the story about Blue and this is how it ends.
