Striving to be Greater

My soul and my mind has been trapped in the past

Clinching on to the things that couldn’t last

I wanna make a change and this chance could be my last

Last chance to see her smile

Last chance to hear her laugh

Last chance to hear her sing

Last chance to watch her sleep

Last chance to hold her in my arms as she lays next to me

I’ve been searching for guidance

Seeking answers from others

Trying to retain the knowledge in my thoughts because only applying it can make me better

Last chance to commit

Last chance at redemption

Last chance to serve

Last chance at a new life

Last chance to be a better man in the eyes of my wife

I see now with a clear head and clear sight

Nothing could be greater than making my life right

Living right by my daughters

Living right by my wife

Last chance to be a greater husband and father till the end of my life
