I didn't want to get up today,

but the alarm rang anyway.

I thought you were my friend Alexa?

But you still betrayed me in this way.

Just once I want to sleep late,

Wake up refreshed and not in a fugue state.

Could I even remember a time before;

early mornings had become my fate?

Once upon a time, way back in my youth.

I lived a life of leisure within my friend group.

I couldn't wait to grow up and be an adult,

Why was I so blind to the truth?

Oh well, Those days are long gone,

Forgotten on the wind like a distant song.

My body creaks and groans,

but it will warm up before too long.
