Labelled humans

“ 95% cotton, 5% Spandex...Machine wash cold with like colors...when needed tumble dry low...”

This was me reading the label on my underwear while getting ready on a lazy morning.

If only human beings had labels! I thought. What if I came with a label that told everyone I came in contact with what I am made of and how to handle me, life would be so much better. But then again people wouldn't even bother to find the label or care to read it, even if it were up in their faces; so what's the point?!

We are all made of different stuff so if you think about it long and hard we are bound to relate and react to things differently. The world definitely would sound like an amazing place to be if we were all the same. That way we'll have the freedom to live and not put extra effort into thinking about others, because they think like us. What a wonderful world?! Not!

Now let's come back to the world you and I live in. The one where we are all different, and like garments, we are made of different emotions and characters and we have different instructions on how to be treated and how we see and manage relationships. The world where a man would only need to buy flowers and money bouquets for his sister yet take his wife out to the ranches in Montana because they have different love languages.

Love. The one thing we need to maintain relationships in our world filled with diverse personalities, some different from ours. The one language that every heart understands and subconsciously requires of any relationship, even friendships.

When we love, it is easy to overlook the little things make us different from someone else. We would need to accept that we are all different and that it takes extra effort to live with one another. This extra effort is love.
