Krampus

A Christmas demon

By Mark Stigers Published about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

On December fifth, Krampus night,

my minions roam alpine streets,

look for bad children to grab on sight,

handing out birch sticks to all they meet.

I am such a striking creature;

On two hooves I stride.

I have dark, hairy features.

You’ll want to run and hide.

For you, I will come,

just to drag you away.

The only way you’ll have fun,

is when you work all day.

If you are on the naughty list,

me you should fear.

I’m afraid I must insist,

No presents for you this year.

Take this chain and switch,

just so you can keep them in line.

The small ones can be a trick.

No visit from St. Nick this time.
