Genie

A member of the Jinn

By Mark Stigers Published about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

I am a creature of smokeless fire.

I am one of the Jinn.

I can grant your heart’s desire,

but beware, lest your fate turns grim.

Would you wish for a billion bucks,

only to be surrounded by too many deer?

Ask that you will live forever,

and find yourself both strange and feared?

Before you say anything,

think carefully, as you should.

Before you ask for something,

make sure it will only do you good.

Am I a creature bad,

who will twist your words awry?

Will you be made only sad

from an angle you failed to spy?

If a Jinn you should meet,

and wishes they offer thee.

Think well about what you seek

to avoid a dark destiny.
