Knowledge and Luck
Being Lucky Is Good

We come into this world with a bag full of luck
And an empty one labeled as, “Knowledge”
So there isn’t a reason to live like a schmuck
Life’s lessons do not require college
Yes, like it or not we’ll keep making mistakes
But we’ll have enough luck to get by
If there’s luck in your bag you’ll get multiple breaks
When you’re out, well it’s likely you’ll die
Yet despite our mistakes, others do it a lot
People screw up as though it’s a gift
They seem to reject all the lessons they’re taught
Hoping luck will provide them a lift
Now the bag labeled “knowledge,” you try to fill up
Though it’s better if luck isn’t used
And even if only it added a cup
Then your bag of luck wasn’t abused
When you live your life risky you must understand
It will always take luck from your bag
If you learn from mistakes you’ll have knowledge in hand
If you don’t, well then THAT’S a red flag
If you fail something stupid, does that make you scoff
Then attempt to go try it again
Well you might be that gender that tends to show off
It’s why women live longer than men
If you’re not part of Mensa and rode a short bus
That’s no reason to throw in the towel
If you trade luck for knowledge, that’s always a plus
And you’ll someday be wise as an owl
Now the lessons of life often cut like a knife
Isn’t THAT what this journey’s about
So pray that you’ll learn all these lessons in life
But before all your luck has run out
