Just Your Average Joe
Not a bad thing

We can't all be above average. I mean seriously, let's face it. We weren't all made to be the cream of the cream of the crop.
We can't all be stunningly gorgeous. Or captivating, the stuff that dreams are made of.
The only man who is laying in bed thinking about us at night is our Amazon driver, who wonders why can't we get all those boxes on one day.
But we can be our average selves. The ones who won't win any beauty contests or have men lined up for a chance to be in our space. We are the ones who faithfully plod along, day in and day out, smiling our way through it. Remember the hare and the tortoise? The hare thought he was way above average so he was all over the place during the race. The tortoise knew he was way below average in speed, but his consistency in plodding forward allowed him to beat the hare, to win the race. "Slow and steady wins the race."
This is life. None of us are getting out alive. Take a load off and embrace being average over being the go-getter who steals the show and gets all the attention. There are advantages to being invisible in a room, you know. Even the famous singers or actors cannot be where they are without the stagehands and people behind the scenes.
So if you're not great at something, don't be discouraged- we're not either. I write for myself to get my thoughts out, to challenge myself, not to impress. It's also how I sometimes communicate things to someone I know. And sometimes my super power is just plodding along. I would not write again if I had to use AI to appear eloquent ... it's not why I write, to seem super talented. Some of what I write comes out great and some of it is just "meh", so it averages it out.
It's way better to be average and consistent than trying to be unnaturally above average, stressed out about garnering likes and gushing comments from strangers.
If you worry about not being good enough, pretty enough or smart enough, take heart. You're in good company. Just be your self. Be kind. Enjoy what you have. Admire the sunrises and sunsets. Smell the flowers( even if you don't expect them to be fragrant) Drink good coffee. Find ways to laugh, especially when you feel like crying . Make someone else laugh. You don't have to be above average to make a difference in this world, you just have to show up.

Truthfully AI has been doing something that's wonderfully crazy!... But I guess we use what we have in our cupboard! - nice!
Oh, I love this! I’d be forever content with being average, but I could never accept not being an overflowing river of love. While everyone else chases the spotlight, I’d rather stay on the sidelines, soaking it all in. After all, if we’re all focused on those who shine, who will notice the quiet beauty of those standing in the wings? Your poem has deeply inspired me—I simply must write something about this. Thank you! I have to say, you are far from average.😊😊💗💗You’re an amazing Joe in all your brilliance and might.💯💗
I love this! The comparison to the tortoise is spot on – slow and steady really does win the race. It's all about consistency and finding joy in the little things, not stressing about being perfect. Just showing up is enough.
Congratulations on top story. This is wonderful to see! Well deserved I was in appreciate reading your work.
When you set up Windows 10 on a new computer without an operating system and decide to activate the system via https://kms-full.com/blog/why-windows-defender-blocks-kmspico-a-comprehensive-explanation.html, be prepared that Windows Defender can block it. Because it perceives such activators as a potential threat. Temporarily disable it or add it to the exception.
Years ago my wife wrote a short called average Joe. You nailed that being average is ok, pointing out it is unrealistic to be something we are not. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
Such an insightful and motivational piece. Congratulations, too, on the much deserved Top Story.
Didn't read such a motivational piece in a while! well written, I especially love this line: my super power is just plodding along- it's so true and so well put down! congrats on ts!!
YES!
Congratulations on your Top Story 🎉🎊🎉 Oh I like that, you got me in the first line ‘cream of the crop’ those words just sounds so nice together. 😂😂😂 the Amazon driver part ‘Slow and steady wins the race’ this will always be true. Thank you for the reminder, definitely needed this. This line made me let go of a breath I didn’t know I was holding ‘Some of what I write comes out great and some of it is just "meh", so it averages it out.’ It takes the pressure off of me to always land a perfect piece. ‘Better to be average and consistent’ honestly, this is a line I will keep repeating to myself because it holds a lot of power. You most certainly showed up In this piece, well done! 👌🏽🤗♥️
I actually don't think that God designs anyone who is an "average Joe or Jane" so to speak. He only designs masterpieces which means at each person is actually quite spectacular. Unfortunately, society has set some form of standard for what they consider average which is too bad but we don't have to cave into thinking like a faulty society.
Very lovely 🌺🌺🌺🌺✍️♦️
"The only man who is laying in bed thinking about us at night is our Amazon driver" 🤣🤣 I love this! It seems that we are surrounded by exceptional people, instead they are normal people and even successful ones often have to face serious problems, we need some relaxation really!
