Cherry wiped the cold mud off of her Chocolate skin and stood up quickly. The boys played too rough for her, but she wouldn't cry or complain because they would then call her a baby, and she was a big girl now.

It was cool outside , due to the rain that came yesterday, leaving slippery mud galore for the kids to play in. Cherry was tired and scanned the yard to see who was it and it was Monte. He was really fast and he threw the ball really hard. So whenever he was it, it was a lot more like running for your life than playing a fun game.

Cherry had been hit with the ball on her hip causing her to fall, so she had to freeze in her spot. Before she could move, someone had to come unfreeze her. She looked at her breathe in the air and leaned forward on her knees to catch it. Everyone had been frozen by Monte except for one kid, her brother Jordan. He was running, ducking and diving from the ball as Monte used all his strength to aim and hit him, but he couldn’t get him, Jordan was just a tad bit quicker.

He did end up finally getting him and everyone unfroze with an agitated attitude. They had played this game three times already, and Cherry wanted to go inside the warm house and play with her Barbie dolls, in clean clothes. She was tired of the painful sting of the hard ball and the shoving of the thin arms, and the fact that they wouldn’t let her be it, didn’t help either.

Cherry stayed outside for the next game bitterly and was the first to get hit. Right on the side of the face. It felt like she got slapped, it stung so bad. She wanted to cry but took in deep breaths quickly as she held her face as she observed everyone else running around.
