Just Breathe

When life gets too much (Light Breaks Water challenge)

I breathe out

And close my eyes to feel…

The breeze across my skin

**

I breathe deeply

And listen...

for the rustle of leaves overhead

And the slowing beat of my heart

*

I breathe out

To the sound of children laughing in the distance

It pulls at the corners of my mouth

**

I breathe deeply

And feel...

the breeze brushing through the hairs on my legs

And my knees begin to sway

*

I breathe out

And relax my shoulders

**

I breathe deeply

To the warmth of sunlight on my face

*

I breathe out

And let the smile rest freely

**

I breathe deeply

And open my eyes...

I’m okay

*
