Just as the world tilts forward

the journey

By Celeste c NicholsonPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

Just as the world tilts forward the road I have walked comes into focus

The past that grips me in this place

camouflaging and burdening me

filling my way with anger and hurt

deception and torment.

Just as the world tilts forward the burdens that imprison me

fall at my my feet.

They crash, they break, they spill and transform.

Anger and betrayal, loss and the jealousy

revealed love and understanding, empathy and compassion.

The river of tears that frustrates me, and wants to drown me-

Wash away the chains that entrap me,

cleaning my soul of the doubts that bind me.

The darkness the isolation that terrified me and swallowed me whole-

glow bright I see the courage and faith to move on.

The roadblocks and weapons used to halt me -

embraced me as armour and protect me from harm.

The closed doors, the rejections that filled me with doubt

imbue me with wisdom and inspiration to find what i need.

The betrayals and abandonments that torment me

mend my shattered dreams, sweep away my doubt.

Just as the world tilts forward the door slowly creaks whispering

"Now is your time; you have what you need."

Just as the world tilts forward. my burdens so arresting and cruel

melt into, wisdom, light and my path.

When the world tilts forward my vision, my heart, my faith, courage

return. I am here, I have all I need.

About the Creator

Celeste c Nicholson

I'm funny, I'm dark, and occasionally a little mean . Writing is my best friend and my confessor. I often just need to see the thoughts to find my way. I hope by releasing some of them into the wild they may speak, inspire or run away.
