Just an Ordinary Day
Or so I thought
Tight, oppressive, claustrophobic.
Walls closing in on me.
Why is this bathroom so small?
Who would design a house like this?

A doctor's appointment
later today,
things aren't going
according to plan.
Going to check anyway.
This is just a formality.

Once I escape,
I'll go to yoga.
Maybe a smoothie after.
I tell myself,
it will all be okay.
***
I enjoy the silence
of the room.
Feeling relief
and slight unease
for this day of rest,
after such a hectic week.
***
Guess I'd better
check that stick.
With the house move,
I've been way
too stressed.
Nothing can happen,
can it?

I pick it up,
turn it over...
and there
it is...
