Jungle is my Color

True colors challenge

By Max Burns-McRuviePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Jungle is my color

A million shades of green

The type of green that glistens

The greenest green you’ve seen

Within this deep green jungle

Are specks of forest fruits

Are subtle tones of tree bark

Are hidden hues of roots

My mind is painted jungle

The color of my dreams

It calms my inner clockwork

It simplifies my schemes

They say that green is envy

For jealous emerald moods

They say the grass is greener

They say a green mind broods

But I think green is peaceful

A forest full of trees

I think green is silence

A leaf caught on the breeze

The jungle chose this color

Instead of red or blue

Instead of gold or silver

No other hue would do

And jungles are not jealous

They do not envy seas

They don’t desire deserts

They’re favoured by the trees

No leaves are quite so lucky

No air is quite so clean

The jungle envies no one

No grass is quite so green

What shade of jade is jungle?

What color code you ask?

I’ll try my best to answer

But struggle with this task

The tint of lazy tree frogs

Wet moss upon a stone

A canopy of tree ferns

The place where green is grown

Jungle is my color

I’m proud to see in green

A green that I call jungle

The greenest green I’ve seen
