Journey westward.

Journey down the westward way,

Where the heart could no longer stay,

With hearts to yearn and eyes to see,

A land, a home, for the free.

The promise of a newfound life,

Abandoned then, the old worlds strife.

Journey across the mid-Atlantic sea,

Where waters churn and storms may be,

The pouring rain and thunders scorn,

The maelstrom swirls, the sails then torn,

Eyes that set and gaze upon,

Where hope in the map, was drawn.

Journey down the westward way,

Where fear has no power, nor terror to dismay,

A people with joy, a people blest,

This blessed nation, the people of the west!
